What Is the Processes Level?
The Processes level is about establishing clear, documented workflows for all key marketing activities.
This ensures that everyone on the team knows how work gets done, reduces confusion, and enables consistent, repeatable execution across campaigns, reporting, and collaboration.
Common Gaps and Pitfalls
⛔ Processes are undocumented or only known by a few team members
⛔ Workflows vary from person to person, leading to inconsistent results
⛔ Handoffs between teams or roles are unclear, causing delays or errors
⛔ Templates and checklists are missing or outdated
⛔ Process improvements are ad hoc, not systematic
Why This Level Matters
Clear, documented processes are the backbone of efficient marketing operations.
They reduce errors, speed up onboarding, and ensure that best practices are followed every time.
Without this structure, teams risk wasted effort, inconsistent quality, and missed deadlines.
What does "Good" Processes Look Like?
🏆 All core marketing activities (e.g., campaign setup, content production, reporting) have documented, step-by-step processes
🏆 Processes are accessible to the entire team and updated regularly
🏆 There are clear guidelines for handoffs between team members and departments
🏆 The team follows standardized workflows, reducing reliance on “tribal knowledge”
🏆 Process documentation includes checklists, templates, or flowcharts to support execution
